I swear she sneaks in extra people, as it always seems like there are many more hands then just herself and her small staff. She is in love with food and nourishes you with her menus. Dear Jewels,
I wanted to let you know what a big hit your cake was. Everyone commented that it was the most delicious wedding cake they ever tasted. Guests actually called me on Sunday to ask if I had any extra that they could come and get. Everyone said the design of the cake was one of a kind. Even the bandleader commented on the cake when they announced that Sara and Dan were going to cut the cake. Thank you for a job well done.

My mother-in-law proclaimed the cake as perfect as the original, maybe better. She was so happy. She hadn't had black walnut cake since her wedding. I believe that “Mother” inspired Jewels. A half-century later, the bride looks a little older, the groom moves a little slower, but that cake was as beautiful and delicious as the day that “Mother” made it for her daughter's big day.

My three siblings and I had no strong convictions about style or food for the party. We needed strong guidance. We asked Julia to meet with us to discuss the party, and we decided to hold our decision about hiring her until after the meeting. Julia met with us at my brother’s home, provided creative and exciting menu ideas and immediately won our business with her professional, warm and engaging style. Before she got out of the driveway that night we had decided to hire Angel Food.

We were not disappointed. The food was absolutely fabulous, and Julia and her staff perfectly executed a complete party while, by the way, guests milled about her in the kitchen! With guests hanging on counters and standing between her and anything she needed to get to, she bantered, dodged marriage proposals, told jokes, laughed at jokes, managed her staff, cleaned up and moved out, leaving behind many tasty snacks for later on.

I never worry about any aspect of a project that you are involved with me. Your food is always prepared and presented on time. I never have to think about what is happening with the food when you are in charge of it You have been an asset and a source of pride for my businesses and personal functions.

Your food and its presentation is always good, consistant and creative. My guests have always reminded me months later how much they enjoyed the food at my events. Many the times I have had my audience hovering over your platters instead of paying attention to my part of an event.

You conduct yourself in a gracious, business manner at all times. I am presented with multiple selections of menus and informed of any changes that may become necessary because of current conditions affecting the menu or presentation. Your food handling and preparation is always an amazement to me. It appears to me that you arrive at my function with raw ingredients and in no time they are transformed into platters full of savory food. You seem to meet any challenge that I put you in charge of.

Creativity is one of your strong talents. I have always wanted the unusual. And you have always given it to me. Being an artist, it is difficult to give up artistic control of your functions but I can do that with you and know that you will match or surpass my part of a function. What you allowed me to do was pay attention to what I had to do before, during and after a function.
I consider you a part of my team. When I need you, you are cheerfully there.

Jewels has been with us since 1998. Jewels is our third personal chef, so we have a basis of comparison and know how great she is. There are so many reasons why. 

Reliability and convenience of menu selection – She has learned what we like and don’t like, as if we are part of her family. She always shows up and we always know her schedule.

Food and feedback – Food is superb. What a joy that is to be able to tell her what we think, even on the rare occasion that we don’t like something. She listens and accommodates us. She provides a wonderful range of all our favorite foods.

Cleanliness – Never an issue.

Special events – If we invite over more than six people, we declare it a party and let Jewels handle everything. What a joy to let someone else handle it with class, style and superb food.

Bottom line – Jewels enhances our life and we highly recommend her.
