Jewels Quelly is a culinary artist with over 25 years of experience in the food service industry. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, she answers the call to use the finest ingredients available and to bring out the best flavors and creative presentations in the dishes she prepares. She is a multi-tasking professional who is well versed in international and local cuisines with a flair for innovative design.
She is an engaging, energetic, creative professional with superior interpersonal and communication skills.
Chef Quelly's diverse career in hospitality includes rich experience in corporate dining and a stint as Sous Chef of John Henry's, owned by World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes. Her catering business was established in 1990 and she has developed close relationships with many celebrated personalities in Warren and Hunterdon counties such as artist Wally Barnette and ABC News Correspondent Deirdre Bryant Worth among others.
Quelly started AngelFood Personal Chef Service in 1996 and is a Certified Personal Chef. She is also a published food journalist. Her work has been featured in the Personal Chef Magazine and since 1998 she has been the Food Features writer for The Express-Times Newspaper published in Easton, Pennsylvania. In 2007 she began the Food Features section of Lehigh Valley Marketplace Magazine. She received the Culinary Institute of America Service Award for her work as Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, La Papillote.
Chef Quelly believes in and maintains healthy living. In her spare time, she devotes time and energy to causes such as The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County and the Washington Business Improvement District.
Quelly is the former creator, producer and host of Oldies 1510-AM WRNJ's first food and beverage program called Dig In with Jewels Quelly. After thoroughly enjoying a short-lived but wildly successful run, she is making herself available for other radio stations interested in Dig In or a program like it.
Chef Quelly lives in Washington, New Jersey with her husband, Peter and their children, P. Isaac and Emilia.
